The Friends of Basingbourne Park is a voluntary organisation. Our running costs (including administrative costs, event running costs, website costs, etc) are covered by our modest subscription (£5 per household per calendar year) and a generous annual grant from Fleet Town Council to cover our Public Liability Insurance. In addition to this, we raise funds for key projects which will improve the Park for our park users or for the wildlife living in the Park. For these, we accept donations at our community events (like our Easter Egg Hunt and Family Fun Run) and run some dedicated fund raising events (like our Christmas Quiz and Social). We also accept ad hoc donations from individuals and businesses, and we make grant applications to awarding bodies (including Hampshire County Council, Fleet Town Council, Rushmoor Council (Airport Fund), Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Fleet Lions) . We are currently raising funds for 3 projects:
Gondola/Snake Swing
The “old” wooden climbing frame which has graced Basingbourne Park for the last 15 years (after being reconditioned following a 20 years service at Ancell’s Park!) was finally condemned and removed from the Park in early 2025.
We are now actively fund raising for a new piece of equipment to fill the void left! This area in the Park is targeted at 8 to 16 year olds. We want to find equipment that will encourage this target age group to spend more time in the park, socialising and their peers whilst also being physically active and encouraging team work to get the swing moving.
Target: £20,000
Currently Raised: £4,911.32

FoBP have ringfenced donations from our Easter Egg Hunts, Carol Singing, Christmas Quiz and social and other fund raising in a fund for new Play Equipment.
We would like to thank the following individuals and businesses who have made generous contributions.
